1992 Porsche 911 Carrera RS N/GT [Type 964]
- One of just 290 N/GTs
- Race variant for the road
- Magnesium wheels
- Full bucket seats
- Roll cage
The 1992 964 Carrera RS was the car that brought back the famous RennSport nomenclature which was previously seen on the 1973 Carrera RS 2.7.
The 964 generation of the standard Carrera RS came in several versions, the M002 code signified a standard base model or Touring while the M003 was for the N/GT, with the M001 being the Cup racing cars.
This example is an N/GT which was the closest one could get to a race car for the road. It kept the same 3.6-litre engine of the standard Carrera RS but it received several performance-focused upgrades to the chassis. The body was reinforced, a roll cage was welded in Weissach, and the clutch, brakes, and suspension were also reinforced to withstand the tough racing demands. The wheels are 17” magnesium Cup wheels and the Recaro bucket seats are made with flame-retardant material. The N/GT variant was often called Clubsport, which is a name that would be carried over to the following generation of 993 cars.
Among the approximately 2000 964 Carrera RS made, just 290 were N/GTs making this a very rare car.
This example shows just 46,895 km on the odometer and is in good condition.
