The Chevrolet Corvette, one of America’s most iconic sports cars, has a long and storied history, with production starting in 1954 and continuing till today.

The C4 was the fourth generation of the Corvette and was produced for 12 years, between 1984 and 1996. The glamorous design of its predecessor, the C3, was replaced by a straight aero-form body with a European sports car feel. The aerodynamic performance was also improved over the previous generation, from a drag coefficient of 0.44 to 0.34. The C4 is a world-class sports car, said to be the generation where Corvette came into their own as a sports car manufacturer.

The Grand Sport (GS) designation appeared at the end of the production run as the final limited edition model of the C4. The basic structure was similar to that of the ZR-1, which had been the top of the range model, but was fitted with a 5.7 L LT4 engine, which was also used in later Corvettes. A 6-speed manual transmission was combined with this engine to produce 330 hp. The exterior was only available in a special Admiral Blue, with a white racing stripe and red “hash mark” lines on the front left fender.

The GS was sold in a limited edition of 1,000 units, of which 810 were coupes and 190 were convertible. The example consigned here was originally delivered to Ron Tonkin, an authorized Chevrolet dealer in Portland, Oregon, USA. The odometer shows just 98 miles (approx. 158km) and the car remains in as-new condition inside and out. The original delivery inspection certificate and GM certificate of origin are affixed to the front window. The overall impression is that the car just rolled off the factory line.

A true time capsule Corvette from a wild time. Whether the car is to be unleashed on public roads or displayed like a museum piece, it is a one of a kind.
